PAOLA FLETCHERHCPC Registered Chiropodist & Podiatrist
Paola qualified as a registered Podiatrist (encompassing Chiropody) in 2000 from Southampton University. In brief, after gaining her degree in Podiatry she went on to work full time in Gloucestershire for the NHS. It was during this period that Paola gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in specialities including diabetes, rheumatology, wound care, nail surgery and chiropody, working both in hospitals and community settings.

Paola then moved to Somerset where she continued to work for the NHS, running Assessment Clinics, triaging, training students, working within Musgrove Park Hospital and carrying out domiciliary wound care and general chiropody. It was during her years working for the NHS that Paola gained the experience that enabled her to successfully move on and work within private practice.

Paola worked at The Wellington Road Foot Clinic from 2006 to 2023, before opening her own clinic, The Old Stables.

All areas of podiatry interest Paola due to her varied experience, including nail care, general foot health and all the associated problems. Her patients encompass all ages, from 3 to 103.

She regularly receives referrals from GPs and health professionals for her services.

Paola is happy to see patients with all sorts of foot problems.

Alice Collins

Alice is an experienced BACP registered psychotherapist who completed her MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling at Birkbeck, University of London. Alongside her private practice Alice also works as a psychotherapist for a large hospital trust.

ALICE COLLINS
ALICE COLLINSMSc Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Alice’s professional journey began in nursing, working extensively in the NHS, education and various clinical specialties, equipping her with a deep understanding of both physical and mental health. Alice addresses a wide range of concerns including depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, loss, abuse, self-harm, suicidal ideation, addiction, eating disorders, anger, guilt, relationship issues, low self-esteem, work-related issues, fatigue, and identity issues. Her approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, committed to fostering positive change in her clients’ lives.

Why Psychodynamic Psychotherapy?
The psychodynamic frame aims to offer a holistic treatment approach, a more thorough examination of the self and recognises how current feelings can be linked to earlier life experiences. As a ‘talking therapy’ this can help us to understand how difficulties from the past can impact our present, therefore affecting our day-to-day habits, emotions, behaviours, relationships and our physical & mental health.
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step and can feel frightening as well as hopeful. Finding the right therapist can enable you to understand things with more clarity, using this understanding to develop a different image of yourself and to help develop stronger relationships.
Sometimes life can feel unmanageable- you may feel overwhelmed, troubled, or be experiencing anxiety or emotional difficulty. Perhaps your thoughts feel confused and you don’t know where to begin. Talking in a safe, quiet and non- judgemental space can help to make effective changes in our lives and enhance our well- being so that life feels less difficult and better understood. Exploring unresolved issues and conflicts through psychotherapy can reduce fears and anxieties leading to the experience of a more fulfilled life.

Rachael Knight

As a qualified nutritionist and registered nutritional therapist (dipCNM, mANP, mGNC), I take a personalised, holistic approach to uncovering the root causes of your symptoms. Using naturopathic nutritional therapy, I create tailored programmes that support your unique needs.

RACHAEL KNIGHT
RACHAEL KNIGHTNutritional Therapist (dipCNM, mANP, mGNC),
Growing up on my Cornish family farm, I learnt the true value of knowing where our
food comes from.
Not only this but also the importance of animal welfare. These early experiences
shaped my commitment to sustainability and ethical practices. At the age of 17, I
started my first business, inspired by the passion for customer service and the strong
work ethic instilled in me by my father. As I moved from Cornwall to Taunton and my
family grew, so did my dedication to building meaningful connections and delivering
excellence in all I do.
After the pandemic, I embarked on a new chapter, dedicating three years to studying
Naturopathic Nutrition at the award-winning College of Naturopathic Medicine. As a
registered Nutritional Therapist, I now have the expertise to address a wide range of
conditions, symptoms, and issues by treating the root cause.

I’m passionate about helping others, using my knowledge to educate and empower
individuals to take control of their health and well-being. Everything I undertake, I do
with 100% commitment and to the best of my ability
As a qualified nutritionist and registered nutritional therapist (dipCNM, mANP,
mGNC), I take a personalised, holistic approach to uncovering the root causes of
your symptoms. Using naturopathic nutritional therapy, I create tailored programmes
that support your unique needs.
I work with a functional medicine and naturopathic approach—considering how all
systems of the body interact rather than just addressing symptoms. Together, we’ll
explore not only nutrition but also lifestyle and environmental factors to support long-
term wellness.
Your journey with The Better Living Clinic begins with a personal connection. That’s
why I offer in-person clinics for initial consultations—because understanding your
unique needs is key to lasting wellness. I dedicate one day a week to meeting new
clients face-to-face in a beautifully converted old stables, a warm yet professional
space. Just 5 minutes from J26, it’s easily accessible from anywhere in the South
West. Let’s build your path to better health.
Book an initial consultation, I’ll need approximately an hour and quarter of your time
in clinic to go through all the information I’ll need from you. Then I’ll research and
prepare everything to create a bespoke plan just for you. I’ll then book you via zoom
or the following Friday for a 20 minute appointment to run through your plan with
you.
Or you can book in a 20 min free call before we book you in for your initial
consultation to chat through your health concerns and options you might prefer.
